The Play Pit locomotion system aims to create a nausea free VR experience that allows the player to stand and move around the environment even if they only have a small space to play.
In a book I can write any scenario that comes to mind, no matter how complex, and let the reader's imagination take the role of artist and sound producer. On the other hand VR experiences provide an opportunity to make the user feel part of the scene - to enter the story and see it unfold first hand. This Tech Demo merges books and VR to make use of the strengths of each of them.
I've recently been investigating the use of breath detection in VR via a microphone. My plan is to use this in one of the meditation tools. However, I allowed myself to get distracted for a while to create and release a simple technical demo where you can see and use your breath in VR.
This research project will use crowdsourcing to gain a greater insight in to what affects our chances of having lucid dreams. Some people have them naturaly, while others invest time and effort or never succeed. Is it genetics, lifestyle, sleep patterns, diet, attitude, the techniques being used or something else? There may be different answers for different people.
