Dream Initiated Lucid Dreams
A
dream initiated lucid dream (or DILD) is probably the most common way to experience a lucid dream and occasionally people enter a lucid dream this way without any training. As the name suggests, the subject initiates a lucid dream while they are actively dreaming.
To use this technique the subject needs to have an increased awareness and use this to question the reality presented in the dream. Dream worlds are usually very bizarre places, but because we are so wrapped up in that reality we do not question it. Once you begin to question your dream world it soon becomes clear that it cannot be anything other than a dream. Realising you are dreaming allows you to take control of the dream; this is a lucid dream.
The few pages that follow teach you some simple techniques that can be used to increase your chances of experiencing a DILD. Be sure to read
ThingsThatInhibitLucidDreaming before you start putting the techniques in to practise.
